Welcome to THE COMPLETE TRAIL HORSE!

For those of you who don't know me, I'm a rancher, writer, retired teacher, former Marine, but most of all a horseman whose lifelong love is the ground-covering using horse, the saddle horse of the type actually ridden in the West a century ago. My writings, the book THE COMPLETE TRAIL HORSE along with 101 TRAIL RIDING TIPS and my articles in THE TRAIL RIDER and EQUUS, have seemed to hit a chord. The result is many emails and letters with questions about (particularly) horses on the trail, their type, their training, and their tack. I'd like to make this blog an open forum for discussion of all such matters, branching also to packing, hunting with horses, and keeping our footprints light on the land. Ask me a question, and I'll do my best to answer it. If I can't, maybe someone else on the forum will be able to do so. Happy Trails, Dan
